The Chemistry department has been established in the year 2009. The Department has 4 well qualified faculty members. The department caters to the academic and research needs of the students of B.E. and Ph. D. programmes and strengthening their knowledge in basic science to serve as a launching pad for their technological career. It serves to provide strong foundation in Applied Chemistry which in turn serves as a baseline for all Engineering streams. It has been constantly producing good results in the university Examinations

The department has a well-established laboratory to accommodate forty students at a time for doing Chemistry experiments for B.E. students. The areas of research are supramolecular chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic–organic hybrid materials, crystal engineering, water analysis and environmental studies. The faculty members periodically present research papers at national and international seminar and conferences and publishing research articles in journals. We have organized several conferences and workshops as extension activities.
